The Warrior College Scholarship is $2,500 for a student living with Type 1 Diabetes. No minimum GPA, no essay contest polish required. Tell us the truth and we will read it.
Who can apply
Short list. On purpose.
- You live with Type 1 Diabetes.
- You are enrolled, or will be enrolled, at a college, university, or accredited trade program during the 2027-28 academic year.
- You can name one recommender who will write a short letter.
- Immediate family of T1D Warriors board and committee members are not eligible.
The award is paid toward tuition, fees, books, or the real cost of managing T1D at school. There is no GPA cutoff. We care more about how you have handled what is in front of you.
If selected, the award is paid directly to your college or university on your behalf.
The recommendation
We email your recommender for you.
When you submit, we send your recommender a short request with a clear deadline. They reply to that email with the letter, attached or just typed in the message. There is no portal and no form for them to hunt down.
When the 2027-28 academic year cycle opens in spring 2027, give your recommender a heads up before you list them. Letters are almost always the last piece to land.

Applications for the 2026-27 academic year award closed on August 31, 2026. Every applicant hears back on September 7, 2026, awarded or not.

Application information is seen only by the selection committee and is never shared or sold. Recipients agree to provide media such as a photo, video, or quote that T1D Warriors may use in marketing, social media, and donor communications.
How awards are decided
Small committee. Plain rules.
- A small selection committee reviews every application.
- Immediate family of board and committee members are not eligible.
- Awards are made without regard to race, religion, sex, or national origin.
T1D Warriors is not affiliated with the American Diabetes Association. We fund camper fees for families attending ADA Camp Korelitz.
