The founding
Family
Type 1 diabetes (T1D) forever changed life for the Gumz family. When their son, Austin, was diagnosed, Monica and Aaron, along with his brother Preston, witnessed firsthand the daily challenges he faced.
Fueled by a desire to support others living with T1D, the Gumz family didn’t wait on the sidelines. Aaron, who wakes up every morning at 3 am to check Austin’s glucose levels (a stark reminder that caretakers never get a day off), understood the relentless nature of the condition.
